My Computer is Fried!

My computer was murdered a few nights ago by lightning. Not only did the lightning take out my computer, but also two tv's and a cable box. We're hoping that it was only the power part of the computer that is messed up - my tech guy(aka my bro) came to look at it and said that the power supply needs to be replaced and it should work after that. It will be a few days before I get the new power supply, so I may be scarce until then.

Can't believe my computer was hit. We are always so careful about unplugging things during storms, AND I have a surge protector. This lightning storm just came up all of the sudden and struck. This really sucks, but I'll be back soon!

I just saw the Brave Nation thing you did with the ACLU guy. I greatly admire your courage and steadfast desire to be a positive change in the world. Like you, I honor Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan for their contributions.

That being said, I encourage you to break free from the fringe mainstream positions you take. Did you see the first thing Obama did after declaring himself the dem candidate? Like most before him he sold his soul to AIPAC and the Zionist Israelis.

If you want real change you will not find it in the mainstream. The dems and reps are two sides of the same coin. They are both controlled. Real change will only come from the likes of Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, et al.

Keep up the good fight.

The Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate (ZEV) was intended to be a requirement for actual production, contrary to Board Member Dan Sperling's assertion that it's merely "technology forcing".

It was not intended as a research program. It was intended to put real Zero Emission Vehicles into the hands of willing buyers, on the free market. Enough of them to make a real difference, 10% by 2003. Previous CARB weakness led to retreat after retreat, until now even the Board fails to remember its purpose.

Now that the primary season is over - who are you supporting?

The two major parties have decided their candidates. Which candidate are you supporting? Barack Obama will be running on the Democratic ticket - who do you think or hope will be his running mate? As the Republican nominee who will McCain choose to run with, especially with the problems many Americans have with the Republican party right now? I'm not too familiar with the third party candidates running or who their running mates are or will be. Anyone supporting a third party candidate over Obama or McCain?

I'm an Obama supporter and have been one ever since John Edwards dropped out the race. I would love to see another ticket with John Edwards, but he has made it clear that he won't be running for Vice President again. I think an Obama/Clinton ticket would be nice, though i know that a lot of Obama's supporters during the primary season will disagree with me on that.

I'm not sure who McCain may pick for his running mate. The Republican party has a big image problem right now due to the Bush Administration. Considering how many Republican politicians have completely supported the administration on all things, I'm not sure how they'll try to change that image.

Hillary Clinton's speech from today - something every young woman should read

Though I have been an Obama supporter since Edwards dropped out of the race, I have admired and respected Senator Clinton for the progress she has made for all women in this country. Her speech today was inspiring, encouraging, and hopeful. There will be a day when a woman is President of the United States and that day will be soon. Hillary Clinton's speech today gave me hope for our future. I am inspired both as a young woman and feminist, and as an American citizen.

Thank you so much. Thank you all.

Well, this isn’t exactly the party I’d planned, but I sure like the company.

I want to start today by saying how grateful I am to all of you – to everyone who poured your hearts and your hopes into this campaign, who drove for miles and lined the streets waving homemade signs, who scrimped and saved to raise money, who knocked on doors and made calls, who talked and sometimes argued with your friends and neighbors, who emailed and contributed online, who invested so much in our common enterprise, to the moms and dads who came to our events, who lifted their little girls and little boys on their shoulders and whispered in their ears, “See, you can be anything you want to be.”

To the young people like 13 year-old Ann Riddle from Mayfield, Ohio who had been saving for two years to go to Disney World, and decided to use her savings instead to travel to Pennsylvania with her Mom and volunteer there as well. To the veterans and the childhood friends, to New Yorkers and Arkansans who traveled across the country and telling anyone who would listen why you supported me.

To all those women in their 80s and their 90s born before women could vote who cast their votes for our campaign. I’ve told you before about Florence Steen of South Dakota, who was 88 years old, and insisted that her daughter bring an absentee ballot to her hospice bedside. Her daughter and a friend put an American flag behind her bed and helped her fill out the ballot. She passed away soon after, and under state law, her ballot didn’t count. But her daughter later told a reporter, “My dad’s an ornery old cowboy, and he didn’t like it when he heard mom’s vote wouldn’t be counted. I don’t think he had voted in 20 years. But he voted in place of my mom.”

Of course we all knew this would happen looking at the numbers, but tonight Obama received enough delegates to officially seal the nomination and become the Democratic Nominee for President.

Barack Obama secured enough delegates tonight to seal the Democratic nomination according to estimates from all major media networds. Tonight is a historic night with Obama making history as the first African-American to win the nomination of a major-party.

Clinton says she's open to being Obama's VP

WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton has told congressional colleagues she would be open to becoming Barack Obama's vice presidential nominee, saying she would consider it if it would help Democrats win the White House.

Clinton, a New York senator, made the comment on a conference call with other New York lawmakers Tuesday, according a participant on the call.

The senator's remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez who said she believed the best way for Obama to win over key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.

"I am open to it," Clinton replied, if it would help the party's prospects in November.
